So I'll summarise by saying we were as good in the first half as we were bad in the second. Church's "goal" in the first half looked level. Cummings might have been sent off after about 20 - he seemed to take out the last man, but not even a free kick. Kebe approach play excellent in the first half, but the final ball selection was always wrong. I think they only had 2 shots in target in the whole game, which was 2 more than us. Nobody was really bad, but nobody was really good either and a draw would have been fair. And it was cold, windy and wet! Lol to the fans who scurried to the back of the stands when that driving rain hit!

First half we looked the best I've seen us play for a while. Le Fondre and Church having the beating of their defence through the middle and Kebe and Kanu getting some joy on the wings. We should have been at least 2 up, le Fondre missed a header when he was unmarked and 4 yards from goal, while Kebe ran through on goal then somehow managed to poke it wide. And of course there was Church's goal that looked well onside. Second half completely different. They scored a decent goal but we should have cut the attack out earlier. After that they killed the game very well, but really we ran out of ideas and looked thoroughly deflated, kept playing long balls up to le Fondre and Manset who didn't win one of them. And as usual we had no creativity through the middle, which was needed when Blackpool worked out that they just needed to get tight on our wingers. All in all, definitely not a classic. Cold, wet, but Reading fans in decent voice.
Croydon Royal

Callum McManaman scored his first goal for in-form Blackpool as Reading suffered their first loss in three Championship matches. McManaman, on loan from Wigan, beat Royals keeper Adam Federici with a curling shot shortly after half-time to hand the Tangerines victory. Adam Le Fondre, Hal Robson-Kanu and Jimmy Kebe all went close for the Royals in the first half. Ludovic Sylvestre and Lomana LuaLua had chances for Blackpool. Both sides had claims for penalties turned down over the course of the match. Blackpool appealed after they believed Shaun Cummings had fouled on McManaman while Reading thought Alex Pearce had been pushed in the area. The visitors also had the ball in the back of the net with 10 minutes remaining of the opening period through Simon Church, but his effort was ruled out by an offside decision. The victory moves Blackpool up to seventh in the Championship, two points adrift of Brighton. Reading themselves would have moved up to seventh had they won, but they remain in mid-table with five points separating them from a play-off place and seven from the drop-zone.
