Division One
8th March 1995 MILLWALL 2 READING 0(Millwalls goals: 10 minutes and 90 minutes - Adie Williams own goal)
Att: 7,546
I haven't got much on this game since I don't know anyone who went. I heard some details off the radio though and from me Dad who was listening in to radio Berkshire...
Reading were crap. The most disturbing thing about their performance was the reverting to the long ball game of the Branfoot days. I hope this isn't a sign of things to come. If we had lost playing our normal attractive-on-the-floor-like-it-should-be-p layed style of football things wouldn't seem so bad. Reading never really got close enough and played the long defensive clearance up the pitch with the hope someone might get hold of it which never happened. We got our second and third sendings off in 3 games as this time it was the turn of Mick Gooding and Phil Holder to have an early bath. The coach was sent from the touch line on the stroke of half time after hurling loads of abuse at the referee. It appears Phil disagreed with the booking of Bern al. Hopkins left the field as well for a head injury, nothing serious we hope but there was a lot of blood splashing about! And poor Adie Williams comeback took another less than wonderful turn as he put the ball in his own net in the dying minutes. Th ree games back for Adie, hes played in two defeats, scored one own goal and picked up a red card.
