report

The Royals were robbed of all three points at Ipswich on the opening day of the new season, when a Jim Magilton dive in the box in the 94th minute earned a penalty for Ipswich which was converted by Kenny Miller - to give the Tractorboys an undeserved late equaliser. Steve Sidwell had put the Royals ahead after the break with a 59th minute strike. A frustrating afternoon for Reading also saw Nicky Shorey given a very dubious red card. |

Yet another season beckons and I've decided to make two new season resolutions, one, not to get too emotionally upset at bad results and two, not to swear in match reports... chuffing bollox! Absolutely gutted as the new season produces another spectacular cheating twat of a referee. Ninety fourth bloody minute! Not going to say too much, too angry, but make no doubt, this result was a tremendous one for the boys and shows that we will be there at the end of the season when the shake up comes. I've put my money where my big gob is and had a substantial wager on us to go up. Let's forget the play offs pantomime and lets storm the league like the sailor boys did last season. All we need is a quality centre back and the jigsaw that is Reading Football Club will be complete. Forty five to go, great start... URZ |
