report

Reading's first game since the departure of Brendan Rodgers and his management team saw the welcome return of a valuable point away from home. Caretaker, or perhaps "new", Reading manager Brian McDermott should be well pleased with the result and performance after Reading were thrown into more chaos during the week. Reading chairman has already had plenty of complimentary things to say about McDermott, which suggest there is no other manager currently waiting in the wings. Reading looked to be heading for defeat after the home side took a first half lead from the penalty spot when Tabb was judged to have fouled. Despite having the better of the game Reading were still a goal behind at the end of ninety minutes, until a deserved injury time equaliser from Simon Church who scored from close range. Church's celebrations earnt him a second yellow card and his marching orders. |
