report

Injury troubled Reading suffered their first heavy loss of the season, with a poor performance letting Bolton record their first win of the season. With Murty already out injured, the loss of Shorey meant a weakened team with Golbourne making his first Premiership start in defence. Reading's make-shift defence was given a tough afternoon by an impressive Bolton forward line determined to bounce back from three straight defeats.
Bolton already looked the more likely side, with Hahnemann making a good save, before they took the lead just after the half hour mark when they headed home from a corner. Reading struggled to make an impact with Doyle getting in a rare shot that was blocked before it reached goal. The home side continued to make the better chances, and with Reading on the ropes doubled their score on 55 minutes. A third goal was always likely with Bolton still pushing forward and it came in the last minute to complete a disappointing afternoon for the Royals. |
