report

Another comfortable away win saw Reading stretch their run to nine straight league wins as the Royals pulled a massive nine points clear of second placed Sheffield United. While the Royals remain unstoppable, the teams below continue to drop points, as United were beaten 1-3 at home by Norwich. Despite all the pre-match talk of this being one of the toughest games of the season, against a team that fancied their chances, it was just another routine league win for the league leaders. Right from kick-off there were clear indications of Reading's superiority. The Royals won a corner in the opening minute and Convey's ball caused big problems for the Wolves defence which eventually saw Kitson head the ball against the crossbar twice from two efforts on goal. Gunnarsson nearly put the Royals ahead from the same move but saw his header go over the target. Glen Little was up to his usual magic down the right wing and his cross nearly saw Reading move ahead when it found Kitson in the middle. The same combination on the half hour mark did see Reading take the lead when Little danced round the Wolves defence to cross for Kitson to head home.
