Reading squandered a two goal lead at Swansea City to end up on the wrong end of a 3-2 score line, which made it three straight defeats. After a promising start to the season, the Royals have now picked up just one
point from a possible twelve and have dropped to ninth in the table. This was always expected to be a tough away fixture and it was Swansea that got off to the better start. Reading, with Meite starting up front and Joao and Carroll both on the bench, scored against the run of play after 26 minutes. Hoilett crossed for Loum to record Reading's first shot of the evening. The ball came back off the keeper to allow Meite to put Reading ahead. The Royals doubled their lead just six minutes later with Meite turning provider for Ince to put the ball over the advancing goalkeeper and into the back of the Swansea net. That was where Reading's contribution to the game ended with Swansea taking full control of the game.
The home side pulled one back before half time from a corner and pulled level on the hour mark. A winner for Swansea was always likely and it came on 74 minutes with an impressive long range effort that beat Lumley back in the Reading goal.
