Reading dropped two points when Millwall secured a late, but deserved draw, with a last minute penalty. The Royals had led for most of the game after Obita's free-kick from the right after nine minutes was met by Morrison who headed home. Reading looked bright for a while before the game became scrappy with neither side creating much in any area.
The second half was poor, but Reading looked set to pick up three points when Millwall's Abdou picked up a second yellow card, to reduce the visitors to ten men on 85 minutes. However Reading were left to regret missed chances - particularly Adam Le Fondre's effort when he somehow managed to miss the target from a couple of yards out. With the game in the last minute Millwall broke into the area and Adam Federici conceded a penalty when the forward went over his outstretched arms. The penalty was smashed into the top of the net giving Federici no chance and Millwall went home with the point. A fair, but disappointing outcome. Despite the scoreline, Reading went up to fifth place in the Championship table.
