Reading were defeated 0-2 last night by Sheffield Wednesday as part of their Portugal tour. The fixture was again a low-key game giving manager Brian McDermott a chance to mix up the team and try out the majority of the squad. The game saw a second half appearance of summer signing Pogrebnyak in a Reading shirt. Reading now have one final game to play in Portugal before returning to the UK to play friendly games against Bournemouth and Brighton. Crystal Palace then visit the Madejski Stadium before the Premier League campaign kicks-off with the visit of Stoke City on Saturday 18 August.

Players Used: Andersen, Cummings, Mariappa, Gorkss, Shorey, McCleary, Tabb, Leigertwood, Church, Hunt, Roberts, Gunnarsson, Harte, Morrison, Pearce, McAnuff, Guthrie, Antonio, Robson-Kanu, Le Fondre, Pogrebnyak.
