Wolves And Reading Share Points

Reading twice came from behind to rescue a point in a highly entertaining game against Wolves.

The Royals had the better of the first half, to lead 1-0 at the break, before an explosive second half saw five more goals and the game finish 3-3 in what was probably a fair result. Reading might have done better but were let down by defensive errors that allowed Wolves to twice take the lead. Fortunately our positive forward play resulted in three well produced and well taken goals.

Reading took the lead on nineteen minutes when Obita and Norwood exchanged passes on the right from a corner. Norwood delivered the perfect cross for Hector to find plenty of room at the near post to head home. The visitors looked short of ideas in the opening period but that changed after the break as they turned the game around. The equaliser would have disappointed Alex Pearce who had an opportunity to do something when a low cross came in from the left. He was probably only too aware of his recent own goal and wasn't keen on a second, and he let it flew across goal, which left the ball free to be driven home by former Royal James Henry. Wolves' second saw Obita make a mistake - after doing all the hard work to win back the ball near goal he then miss-hit the ball into the centre of the box - directly to Evans who made no mistake.

The third goal in four minutes was to Reading when Cox saw Taylor's run and delivered the right ball to allow Taylor to produce a very professional finish through the keepers legs to make it 2-2. Reading managed to calm the game down but there were still chances for both sides. Both sides looked capable of winning it but it looked like Wolves had with six minutes left to play when a fast cross from the right saw the ball ping off Blackman's head and past Federici to give Wolves a late lead. However, the game still had more to provide as Reading continued to push forward, and were rewarded with a minute left on the clock when Murray equaliser with a powerful strike that flew into the top of the net.
