Reading Hope For Win At Leeds

Reading will be hoping to return to winning ways at Leeds United this evening after a run of two defeats and a draw. The Royals will look to take advantage of an unstable Leeds side who are under the control of new manager Darko Milanic for just his second game. The pressure might already be on for his first home game in charge after his first outing saw a 0-2 defeat at Brentford. Despite continual behind the scenes changes at Leeds they are still 14th in the table and would go ahead of Reading if they win. A Reading win would probably see them rise one place back up to ninth.

The game follows an entertaining 3-3 home draw against Wolves at the weekend. Reading were impressive going forward but made a series of defensive mistakes to allow Wolves back into the game and give them a share of the points. The game saw Adam Federici back in goal and Danny Guthrie play the entire second half as Nigel Adkins injury woes begin to ease at last. Hal Robson-Kanu is widely reported to be making an appearance tonight, and he'll probably join Pogrebnyak on the bench. Jake Taylor was forced to leave the pitch at the weekend after scoring Reading's second goal and maybe left out to recover from a minor hamstring injury.

The Royals have won their last four fixtures against Leeds - and that followed a run of four draws to leave Reading unbeaten in eight games against tonight's opposition. Last season Reading were 4-2 winners at Leeds, back in March, with goals from McCleary, Drenthe, Blackman and Robson-Kanu. Before that we picked up a 1-0 win at Elland Road in December 2011. Reading have lost just twice against Leeds in their 12 meetings over the last twenty years.
