Crunch Time As Royals Visit Wigan And Villa

It's set to be an important part of Reading's season as the Royals travel to relegation rivals Wigan Athletic and Aston Villa in the space of four days. The Royals are sandwiched between the two sides at the bottom of the table. Aston Villa, who Reading play on Tuesday are in the bottom three with the same points as Reading, and Wigan are two points and one place above the Royals. A couple of wins, which would obviously be a big ask after Reading finally clocked up their first win of the season, would pull Reading clear of the bottom three. Two defeats would see Reading firmly back in the bottom three and the alarm bells will be ringing. Tough games follow these two fixtures with Reading playing Manchester United, Arsenal and Manchester City out of the next four. It seems vital to pick up some decent points out of Wigan and Villa.

Reading are at Wigan this Saturday afternoon. Wigan have lost their last two games and already clocked up seven defeats from their twelve games. They have won just one home game and already leaked eleven goals at home. Only QPR have let in more goals at home this season. Wigan also have an extensive injury list heading into this game, while Reading have no new injury worries and may even see the return of Jimmy Kebe. Guthrie and Karacan are also well on the road to recovery. There might be no easy games this season, even more so away from home, but Reading will be hoping to pick up something from this game.
