Crawley Beaten As Royals Progress In Cup

Reading beat Crawley Town 3-1 away from home to bounce back from the New Years Day defeat to Spurs and progress to the fourth round of the FA Cup. In the first competitive meeting between the two sides it was Crawley that scored the first goal immediately as the game kicked off. Nicky Adams strike from outside the area was timed at just 14 seconds into the game, immediately giving Reading plenty to do against determined opposition. Le Fondre pulled Reading level on 13 minutes before Noel Hunt scored just before the break to give Reading the lead. After half time the same two players were involved again for Reading's third. Hunt was fouled in the area and Le Fondre scored from the penalty spot to make it 3-1 to the Royals.
