Darren Caskey is the 1999-2000 Internet voted Player of the Season. Caskey, last season's runner-up, won by a massive majority to take the award from last season's winner Phil Parkinson, who finished in joint fifth place - over 85% behind. Nicky Forster was second in the running with just over 6% - way behind the winner. Caskey also featured highly in the vote for the biggest improvement of the season - being beaten to the award by Scott Howie just 2.3% ahead. Scott Howie won the biggest improvement award for the second season running, with the top two being exactly the same as last season. Andy Gurney and Peter Grant also featured well in the voting - just a few percent behind.
Reading fans are even more optimistic than this time last season. Last year everyone thought the Royals would be going up next season - this time around they are even more certain of it. Over 93% of the vote thought Reading will go straight up next season or at least be in the play-offs.
It wasn't suprising to see games played in the second half of the season being voted as some of the best performances of the season. The top five performances were all games played in the second half of the season. Reading fans will be pleased that Bristol Rovers didn't reach the play-offs this season since we played our best against them this season. Lets hope we can put together another triple against the side. Games against Rovers were voted as 1st, 4th and 8th best performances of the season - with the home match being voted the best.
