End Of Season Awards 2012/2013
After the last two seasons saw Shane Long and then Alex Pearce do the double for player of the season and most improved player, there was a split in the awards this season. Alex McCarthy earned player of the season for a string of superb goalkeeping displays that earnt him a call-up into the England squad. McCarthy was second placed in the most improved player award where Hal Robson-Kanu quite rightly grabbed top spot.
Votes were collected during June 2013.

Player of the Season 2012/2013
Alex McCarthy enjoyed a fantastic season after coming into the squad after Adam Federici's shaky start to the season. With Federici then out injured McCarthy soon made the goalkeeper's shirt his own. His season earned him a call up into the senior England squad - as well as a narrow victory in the Hob Nob Anyone? Player of the Season awards. Mariappa's solid performances in an under-seige Reading team earned him second place, closely followed by goal scoring super-sub Adam Le Fondre. McAnuff had some critics this season but earned well over 10% of the vote as our best player in 2012/2013.

Most Improved Player 2012/2013
Alex McCarthy was runner up in a near two way split for the most improved player of the season award. Congratulations go to Hal Robson-Kanu who took over half of the total vote.

Best Reading FC Performance 2012/2013
There's no getting round the fact that this was a bleak season for Reading FC in the Premier League. The vote was well split across rare Reading wins and some reasonable draws. Perhaps the brightest sign was that the winner of Reading FC best performance was a game under the charge of Nigel Adkins - the 4-2 away win at Fulham in May 2013.
Worst Reading FC Performance 2012/2013
Well, there was certainly plenty to choose from in this category, but the 0-3 home defeat to Wigan Athletic really was the one. A dismal Reading performance summed up the season and was a big factor in Brian McDermott being shown the door as Reading's good run came to an end with Reading slumped in 19th place in the Premier League.
Next Season 2013/2014 - Where will Reading FC Finish?
What a bunch of optimists Reading fans are. At this time last year, 89% incorrectly voted that Reading will stay up in the Premier League. Less than 10% thought that Reading would go down. The predictions this season are optimistic again. The most voted outcome, with 36%, was for Reading to make an immediate return to the Premier League via automatic promotion. 31% see more play-off misery on the horizon, while a quite clearly nuts 19.5% think we're going to win the play-offs! Like that's ever going to happen! Nigel Adkins has got quite a job on his hands to appease Reading fans this 2013/2014 season. Good luck to him!
