End Of Season Awards

Phil Parkinson has been voted Internet Player of the season for the second season in a row by a huge majority. Parky took the top spot with over 60% of the vote, with Caskey far behind with 24% of the votes. Caskey was also a clear second with plenty of other players sharing the minority of the vote. Scott Howie also did really well following a shakey start to the season to claim third spot in the player of the season and to deservedly win the biggest improvement of the season award with Darren Caskey again featuring in second place.

There were a lot of reservations about Tommy Burns' signings so far. A large percentage couldn't name a good signing, but in the end Grant Brebner narrowly won from Chris Casper. With both players fading out badly towards the end of the season Graeme Murty, who hasn't put a foot wrong, wasn't far behind in third place. If the season had gone on a bit longer and Murty hadn't suffered from injury so much he'd have probably walked the award.

Despite the doom and gloom of the past season, Reading fans remain extremely upbeat about next season. Almost two thirds of fans think we'll either go straight up automatically or reach the play offs for a shot at promotion. Meanwhile less than a single percent think we'll be relegated this time next season. The pressure is on even more for Burns' next season - fans are clearly expecting big things.
