Form Guide

Reading will be keen to collect some points after last Saturday's game was postponed at Luton due to a frozen pitch. Port Vale would have wished their game was called off after going down 2-3 away at Rotherham despite looking good for a point away from home. Before that Vale collected the full three points at Swindon town, and last Tuesday successfully went through to the next round of the LDV Vans trophy with a 2-0 home win over Chester while the Royals were put out, 0-1, at Swansea.

Port Vale are currently four places off the bottom of the Second Division table with only seven goals scored away from home in the league all season.

Previous Meetings

Port Vale have won one more game against Reading through history - Reading will be hoping to make the statistics level:
Reading wins: 22
Draws: 14
Port Vale wins: 23
Figures include League, League Cup, and FA Cup only.

2000/2001 Season:
Towards the start of this season a single Jamie Cureton goal was enough to give Reading the full three points at Port Vale
2 September 2000: Port Vale 0 Reading 1 (Division Two)

1997/1998 Season:
Before this season the last time the two sides met in league action was back during the 1997/1998 season when we were both up in Division One. Reading came out worst though - despite getting a point away from home in a 0-0 draw Port Vale stuffed us 0-3 at Elm Park and Terry Bullivant wasn't feeling too secure in his job.
7 March 1998: Reading 0 Port Vale 3
(Division One)
1 November 1997: Port Vale 0 Reading 0
(Division One)
