Travel, Food and Beer. |
Pop down the M3 and turn onto the M27 signposted towards Bournemouth. Keep going onto the A31 and eventually follow signs to the A338 towards Bournemouth. Stay on the A338 until you come to the A3049 signposted to Boscombe and then you're pretty much there. Car parking is available at the ground as long as you don't mind spending an hour or two in the car park after the final whistle. Another option is the train - the taxi to the ground from Bournemouth central station will set you back about four quid. The trip to Bournemouth is always a great day out - well worth making
a day of it if the weather holds out. There's plenty of options for food
and beer both in the town centre, in Boscombe or right next to the ground.
Some pubs stop you getting in after two so it's worth turning up with
a bit of spare time for a pre-match drink. Next to the ground there's
a couple of pubs down Holdenhurst Road, the closest is the Queens Park
right by the ground which is recommended, otherwise The Portman
is close by down Ashley Road. There's plenty of take aways down Holdenhurst
Road too. |
Team news |
Reading could see Martin Butler returned to the starting eleven after he came off the bench to score Saturday's winner against Port Vale. Butler looked sharp up front and his inclusion could see Rougier put back on the bench. Murty could acutally be named in the squad after shrugging off another injury. Bournemouth could give a starter to Hayter who had an impressive game on Saturday coming off the bench when the Cherries were losing at home. Reading - from: Whitehead, Newman, Viveash, Hunter, Gray, Caskey, Jones, Murty, Rougier, Igoe, Parkinson, Cureton, Butler, McIntyre, Smith, Hodges, Howie. Bournemouth - from:
Stewart, Narada, Purches, Howe, Tindall, Day, O'Connor, Hughes, Elliott,
Jorgensen, Eribenne, Fletcher, Hayter, Menetrier, Broadhurst, Smith. |
Form Guide |
Reading currently lie in sixth place in the table after two straight 1-0 home wins. This match is one of Reading's games in hand - but it's going to be tough. When we were due to play Bournemouth the first time around they were right down the bottom of the table and Reading could well have come away with the three points. Since that postponement Bournemouth have hit form and clawed their way up the table to 10th position. Bournemouth's last home match was on Saturday when they put in a disappointing start to the game to go 0-2 down after just 28 minutes - something that will give the Royals some hope. However goals from Hughes from the spot and Fletcher in the second half were enough to earn a draw. Bournemouth will be disappointed with the result but their form before that game had seen two straight away wins in the league - 2-0 at Cambridge and an amazing result winning 1-0 at league leaders Millwall. Reading are going to have to put in a great performance to get some points at Dean Court. |
