Travel,
Food and Beer.

Pubs and Food:
If you park near the Magic Roundabout - near the ground then you can try The Oxford pub or the The Bulldog for beer. Swindon pubs aren't always too welcoming for Reading fans though. The Bulldog is a reasonable option if you've arrived in time for food. Failing that there's a Burger King right close to the ground and a chippie.

By Train:
If you catch the train to Swindon station then the good news is the ground is only a short walk away. Walk between the two pubs you'll see as you exit the station and that'll take you to Manchester Road. Head left along there and it hits County Road. Turn right for the ground. If you're lazy it's only a few quid in the taxi.

By Car:
Easy. Exit the M4 on junction 15 and follow signs to Swindon Town centre. You'll eventually hit the infamous magic roundabout. You can park anywhere around there, or simply follow the signs for the ground. There's plenty of parking close to the ground for a few quid. A couple of schools open their gates to allow parking for a few quid.

2001/2002 Season:
Earlier this season the Royals went down 1-3 to Swindon at home. A day to forget.
13 October 2001: Reading 1 Swindon Town 3

2000/2001 Season:
Last season Reading did the double over Swindon to claim the full six points. At home Reading comfortably beat Swindon 2-0 - our first game of that season at the Madejski Stadium. Away from home a single goal from Jamie Cureton in March won the points:
27 March 2001: Swindon Town 0 Reading 1
19 August 2000: Reading 2 Swindon Town 0
The home match was the first time the two sides had met since Reading were relegated from the First Division.

1997/1998 Season:
Our games in the 1997/1998 season in the First Division saw a share of the points with both sides winning away from home. We won on aggregate though. :-)

16 August 1997: Reading 0 Swindon Town 1

Pre-Match Opinions

Well so much for my Brighton preview, this result has really made tomorrow nights game one which Reading need to avoid loosing at all costs. There seems to be very little positive to say about our performance according to the radio commentary and eye witness accounts of the 3-1 dusting down, handed out by Brighton. Like most premiership sides who come a cropper against third division and non league teams its probably best to blame the pitch and conditions, not that Brighton play like a non league side. They are obviously our main threat, anyway no such excuse will be available at the county ground and Reading really must restore that confident passing football they displayed around Xmas. Parky is back and after a rest! hopefully he will be revved up and ready to go, Gamble could provide the missing ingredient to Readings slump in form as it was evident against Notts County that we were short on invention and the players had started to provide less in the way of options which needs a passing player to bring back the movement with some telling balls. Reading have problems at the back and the management really have their work cut out for this one. Come on Reading, another unbeaten run please!
