Reading are likely to field an unchanged side from the one that was thoroughly beaten at Stoke City on Saturday. However, Pardew may choose to make a few changes after Saturday's poor performance. Forster will be looking to make a start with Cureton possibly dropped to the bench. Cambridge may be without midfielder Paul Wanless who scored Cambridge's winner on Saturday but picked up an ankle injury towards the end of the match.

During the 1999/2000 season Reading failed to impress in their meetings with Cambridge, in the first season we'd played them in the league since the 1993/1994 season. At home we played out a disappointing 0-0 draw while away from home they beat us 1-3 in a game right at the start of the season:

Back in the 1993/94 season I remember well the trip to Cambridge United for the first round of the FA Cup - getting soaked on the away end watching a dull 0-0 draw - the Royals then went on to lose the replay 1-2 at home! Thankfully in the league we managed the double with a 3-1 home win and a 1-0 win away.
