By car, get on the M1 and then leave at Junction 24 and take the A453 towards Nottingham. Follow signs for the A52 East towards Grantham, then onto the A6011 towards Nottingham which will take you straight to the ground. Parking is available actually at the ground.

By train, you need to walk about 20 minutes to the ground.

For nearby drinking try the Larwood & Voce pub, which is supposed to be a very short walk from the visitors end of the ground on Fox Road. The Southbank pub, which sounds good to Reading fans no doubt, is best avoided as it's not really an away fan pub.
